Randoms

I live in a very interesting town. I don't even have to look for strange funny things I just find them. Here are a few.

I have no words to describe this. Just so everyone knows I was driving and my passenger took this pic.

My little brother went to a Flea Market and he was like come here, bring your phone and look. Most of that stuff was WAY past its expiration date.

While at the on the road to the Flea Market I really had to go to the bathroom. I found  a pair of keys that got me excited they where to a BMW. I wanted to keep them but I started to get paranoid about losing my keys and felt bad so I turned them in. I really hope the person that lost them found them.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!!!!!

Normally for Mothers Day I go out on the day of and buy mom flowers and cards from everyone, somehow it has turned into an expectation over the years I don't know why. But I'm working this mother's day so I did my shopping a day early. Which gave me time to really look at the cards. They all day sweet things but I decided I was gonna make my own this year. I actually documented from start to finish this time so I have pics. I am excited!!!! :D

I  found some premade stockcards at kroger's minute clinic so I took 3 ( one for me, my sis, and if my brother wants one)

back ( thanks THE LITTLE CLINIC)

I'm not to fond of what the card actually says so I edited just a little bit.

I just used things I had laying around the house.

  • glue
  • scissors
  • gel pens
  • glitter pens
  • felt
  • printer paper. (not pictured)

1. I took regular printer paper folded it and cut it in half.

Regular printer paper

fold in half hamburger style

fold again

cut along one edge to make half the size

2. I then glues the paper I cut and covered the words.

I did like the way card wrote I love you mommy! but I don't call my mom mommy, she goes by mom, mami, mammi.
3. So I traced the words cause you still could see the words underneath.

4. I didn't like the blank space underneath cause you could still see the words. So that's when I decided I would add the felt heart.

5. To make the heart all you need is: a piece of felt and scissors. The steps are easy.
take your felt and....

fold it hamburger style

cut along the closed edge in the shape of half a heart

TADA you have a heart shape.
6. Next you glue the shape on to the paper and decorate however you like. (I wrote my name and my sisters name on mine)

I've tried but my computer won't rotate them. I'm sorry.

On the top side you can write you message to you mom.

You can decorate the rest of your card anyway you want. I colored my butterflies and flowers with my gel pens cause that's all I had around me.

Knoxville

I never knew Knoxville could be so much fun. Every time I've gone in the past I've been bored out of my mind but this past weekend was so much fun. I love my best friend and her sister. Also there where so many things that just cracked me up during the trip so I'm gonna post them on here.

2a. It's ok you don't have to serve me, I'll just go to Sweet Cici's when I get home. 2b. I can't leave my pets outside by themselves they will run away. :( lol

We went to yogurt place (I forget the name) and these to signs made me smile. 1. How am I supposed to know if I will be a paying customer unless I try something and see if I like it.

We went to see Water for Elephants (really bad quality on the pic), which had Robert Pattenson and Reese Witherspoon in it, and well we had to take a pic of his "crown" form New Moon premiere. (I didn't  care for the movie that much.)

Of course I had to post it. :D

This theater had the coolest hand dryer thing I've ever seen and tried.

(This is Lavi not me)

Then we went to WalMart to get some water and I found these instead.
I got a little upset. Like what where they trying to say, you know.

We ended up going to Boarders and I found this notebook that said "Keep Calm and Have a Cupcake" I felt better, books always know how to cheer me up.

To finish our trip off we went out to eat Chinese at a Chinese Buffet. The food was actually pretty good, I wasn't to hungry so I only ate one plate. After I went back to get some fruits I found these lovely creatures hanging out in the same display area. I was gonna try one but I grossed myself out and I didn't.

Nicki's Diaper

(The pic above is from the website link below)

My really good friend (that I helped with the babyshower) is gonna be using cloth diapers for her baby. I've never even thought about cloth diapers since everyone I know just uses regular throw away diapers. But this lovely friend of mine has opened my eyes to so many new things that she finds out and then shares them with me. I've been watching a lot of youtube review videos and reading reviews online and the link about diapers "Best Bottom" (I believe thats the name) seem to me to be the easiest to use and the cutest. (just my opinion) I haven't used them yet, I can't wait to meet little Claire and see how she fits in her diapers.

My Friends BabyShower

I have a very good friend that I love dearly and this past weekend I helped host her babyshower. I can't wait for her little girl to be born so I can spoil her.

The shower theme was "It's a Girl!!"

We made it simple and pretty.
I had a few game ideas but it turned out we just didn't have the time to play all of them.  We did have a competition of sort between the ladies/girls to see who could design the best onesie for the baby.

it says:
 "Welcome Madelynn Claire"
Pleae Design a Onesie for the little one.
(BEST ONESIE WINS PRIZE)
only 1 per ADULT Guest

The ladies had a lot of fun and here are a few shots we took during the shower.

DADDY'S LITTLE PRINCESS
HE DID IT!!!
I LOVE YOU!
BABY ANGEL

There where so many beautiful onesies, I wish I had been able to take pictures of all of them I just couldn't. I can only be in one place at a time.

We had so much fun and such good food. I want to show you what talented people I know, both of these cakes where done by hand and they tasted AMAZING!!!!

GETTING READY FOR HAITI

Ok, so I'm making this for others who plan to go to Haiti. Cause I didn't have anything like this.

As of today Haiti is on the recommended list to get you immunization shots. I still would highly recommend getting them. I always better safe then sorry, and for those of you who think that you believe in God and that he can protect you form everything. True he can, but there is also a reason why he allowed men/women the knowledge to become doctors. Anyways. If you have insurance contact your doctor and let him/her know that you plan on leaving the country and they will let you know what shots you need to get. If you don't have insurance contact your local health department and they will recommend a doctor who can do them for you.

Here is a list of the most common immunization shots you should take before leaving the country to go to a 3rd or lower world country, if you don't already have them.

Diphtheria
Tetanus
Measles
Hepatitis A
Hepatitis B (this shot is given in I believe 3 doses so you need to do it about a month before you leave if you can)
Typhoid Fever
Malaria (usually pills are prescribed to take with you)

When you get back be careful about Cholrea.
Cholrea - I don't think there is a shot for it. But if you have any of the symptoms http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001348/
you should go to the ER.

All the info about shots that I got where form my doctor but you can also find out more info for the following link: http://www.mdtravelhealth.com/destinations/mamerica_carib/haiti.php

I also compiled a list of food/snacks that we took with us on our trip.
In no particular order

Jelly beans
Beef/Turkey Jerky
Roman Noodle Soup ( but you have to boil your bottled water)
Krispy Treats
Peanuts
Energybars
Ceral Bars
Crackers with cheese/peanut butter in the middle
Spam (I don't particularly like it but a lot of the people I went with on my mission trip ate it)
Tuna
Crackers
Trail Mix
Jello
Pudding

Other things to bring with you:

Flashlights
First Aid Kit
Baby Wipes
Hand sanitizer

I really enjoyed my trip and I had an amazing experience. I took the time to get prepared and I know I wished I had some notes, ideas of what to take with me when I went.
